A WORKSHOP session is being held for people who would like to consider joining Tenbury Town Council.

Tenbury Town Council is inviting anyone who wants to find out more about becoming a councillor to come along to an open evening at the Pump Rooms on Monday (December 8) from 7pm to 8pm.

The council has 13 members. A total of 11 are nominated by residents of Tenbury and two by residents of St. Michaels and it is directly responsible for many facilities and amenities used by people in the town.

Councillors also liaise with district and county councils and many other organisations to represent the town’s best interests and ensure that local issues are understood and properly addressed.

Tenbury Town Council is currently committed to various projects including improvements to the young children’s play area on The Burgage, the Skate Park, the Civic Garden and Pavilion and Palmers Meadow changing facilities.

The next opportunity to be elected to the town council will be held on May 7 2015. Anyone who is interested should come along to the Pump Rooms to find out more.
