THE pensioner killed in a collision on the A49 in Church Stretton has been named.

Ilse Forster, from Church Stretton, suffered fatal injuries following the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred at around 7am on Monday (November 17) in the Shrewsbury bound carriageway at the junction with Sandford Avenue.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have witnessed the collision, particularly the driver or passengers of a white or silver 4x4 small pickup style vehicle, similar to a Ford Ranger, seen in the area at the time.

Police believe this vehicle travelled behind the HGV from Craven Arms and continued to Shrewsbury.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 66 of Monday November 17.
