UNIFORMS from the 1930’s are the latest addition to a cultural museum in Craven Arms.

The two Girl Guide uniforms from the era between the two world wars belonged to two sisters who were members of the girl guides. One of them even also had a small diary for 1934 that belonged to one of the girls.

Despite the passage of 80 years the cotton dresses are in good condition.

The Museum of Lost Content in Market Street has achieved acclaim as an extraordinary treasure trove of everyday items from the mid to late 20th century, including groceries, clothes, household machinery, musical instruments, records and books – as owner and curator Stella Williams explained:

“I think I’ve got just about everything there is to have - sometimes I think the collection owns me, not me it!”

There is even a collection of sweets - some still familiar with today’s children.
