FOUR lawyers at a legal firm which has offices in Ludlow have been recognised as 'leaders in their field' in a respected independent national guide.

The Chambers UK Guide ranks the best legal professionals in specialist areas of law from across the UK based on independent research and interviews with solicitors and clients.

Lanyon Bowdler, which has an office in The Business Quarter, Eco Park Road, has four lawyers highlighted in the 2015 directory.

Emma Broomfield, Kay Kelly and Lucy Small from its clinical negligence team, and Neil Lorimer from the personal injury team have all been identified as leading individuals.

David Battisby, managing partner at Lanyon Bowdler, said: “The Chambers Directory is very well respected so to have four of our lawyers included as leaders in their field is a real testament to their experience, knowledge and skill.

“It is a clear indication that our clients can be assured of getting the very best legal expertise when they come to us for advice.”

Kay Kelly, who heads Lanyon Bowdler’s clinical negligence team, said: “With so many ‘no win, no fee’ solicitors now undertaking clinical negligence and personal injury work, this kind of independent endorsement enables us to show our clients that we are truly specialists in our fields who can achieve the results they deserve.

“More non-specialists are taking on clinical negligence cases since the law was changed in April 2013 and they often achieve less compensation than a client is entitled to, so it’s vital that anyone with a potential claim makes sure they instruct a specialist.

“Most importantly, being ranked in Chambers gives our clients the confidence that their legal representative has been assessed by their fellow law professionals and given an outstanding rating because of their knowledge, expertise and the standard of service they can provide.”

Neil Lorimer, partner, head of the personal injury team and brain injury specialist, added: “In cases involving personal injury and clinical negligence, clients and their families are naturally nervous and sometimes reluctant to undertake legal action.

“Being endorsed by an independent directory like Chambers, which is based on a great deal of research and feedback, shows clients that we have the expertise and experience to manage their case in a sensitive and professional way.”
