ONE of Ludlow’s best known names is back in business.

Less than a year after closing down the De Greys brand is back again on Broad Street.

It is now incorporated as part of the Wildwood Restaurant. This means that the traditional De Greys tearoom, with its cake and deli counter, is running alongside newer features.

The owners say that the decision to bring back De Greys was taken after so many people in the town expressed their sorrow at its demise after being part of Ludlow for so many decades.

Because of the condition of some of the building changes have had to be made but the new owners say that they have tried to keep as much as possible of the character of the former award winning tea room.

The return of De Greys has been welcomed by Jim Smithers, a former mayor of Ludlow and the town council representative on the Chamber of Trade. He says that it is good news for the whole town.
