A SPECIAL first birthday took place in Tenbury.

In the early part of 2013 a group of people decided that there was something missing from the cycle of life in the town.

The thought was that the ingredient that was absent from the life of Tenbury was a regular market where local producers and craftspeople could sell their wares.

So the Tenbury monthly local produce market was born at first at a pub in the town before it moved to the land adjacent to the Pump Rooms.

It was food and drink that dominated at the birthday market with meats, chutneys, cakes, breads as well as beer, cider, wines and liquors on sale.

But the market that takes place on the third Saturday of every month is also a showcase for crafts and gifts as well as including attractions like displays from a black smith and other artisans from the area.
