ONE of the best known names in Ludlow will be coming back.

De Greys which closed in January will be retained by its new owner when the Broad Street restaurant and team room reopens.

It is hoped that this will happen by the end of August after work is completed on a major refit.

The premises is likely to be named β€˜De Greys at Wildwood Kitchen.’

In a major new move the De Greys tea room, bread and cake counter and deli at the front will be retained with the new pizza restaurant capable of seating about 100 customers at the back where a walled garden has been created.

Some of the work has been made necessary because of structural problems such as damp and the restaurant chain says that some original beams, that had been previously covered, have been exposed.

The chain says that the level of interest in the new restaurant has been greater than any of its other eateries elsewhere in the country and that the decision to retain the De Greys name, the shop counter and tea room was in response to requests from people in Ludlow.
