CRAVEN Arms will feature in a week of play events being organised by Shropshire Council.

‘Playday’ is a celebration of children’s right to play and a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.

It takes place next month (August) with an event on Monday August 4 at the Craven Arms Community Centre between 11am and 3pm.

It is open to children of all ages and their families and it’s free to attend. No pre-booking is necessary so just turn up and play. Activities will include face-painting, arts and crafts, sports, games and much more.

‘Playday’ is a great initiative to get children and communities playing, whilst also finding out about other local services available to them is all about making everyone feel welcome and part of their communities,” said Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s cabinet member for leisure, libraries and culture.

“It has proven a popular and successful event over the last few years, so again leisure services shall be hosting events around the county for Shropshire residents to go along and join the fun.”

At the events, Change4Life will also be highlighting their newly launched campaign ‘10-Minute Shake Up.’ Working with Disney, the campaign has designed a pack which is to encourage children to have fun and move more this summer.
