IT was decided that the show must go on when the site for the Ludlow Youth Festival was inundated with rain.

The annual festival for young people in the town had been scheduled for the park on Wheeler Road.

But torrential overnight rain that continued through some of Saturday appeared to leave the organisers with little choice but to call the whole thing off. However, it was decided to make the best of things and move the event to the Ludlow Youth Centre.

There were still many of the original attractions and an appliance from Ludlow Fire Station came not to pump out but to give the youngsters a chance to take a look and sit in the driving seat.

While the emphasis of the day was on having a good time there was also a chance to get over a serious message in a fun way.

The Alcohol and Drugs Awareness Project provided young people with ‘beer goggles’ that simulated the affect of having too much to drink.
