LUDLOW Food Festival said a huge thank you to the town at the weekend.

Everyone with a SY8 postcode was invited to the event's 20th birthday party held at Ludlow Castle.

Two decades ago the idea started in the front room of local pub and now the event has well and truly put Ludlow on the foodie map.

And the organisers of the festival, which still runs as a 'not-for-profit' organisation, decided to hold a party to say a huge thank you to everyone in the town.

There was plenty of entertainment for children with free bouncy castles and face painters, and entry to the castle was also free.

There was live music throughout the afternoon with the Got 2 Sing choir performing along with talented students from Ludlow School.

Drinks and food were subsidised on the day with everything being around £2 and 1,000 free hog roasts, with a vegetarian alternative, were given away.

To help mark the 20th anniversary of Ludlow Food Festival the 20th anniversary of the The Furniture Scheme was also celebrated at the party.
