EASTENDERS writer Anya Reiss is having her adaptation of Chekhov’s play The Seagull performed in Worcestershire for the first time at The Regal in Tenbury.
It is being presented between today (Thursday July 17) and Saturday by the theatre company Here to There Productions Limited.
Anya Reiss, aged 22, first burst on to the theatrical scene with her debut play Spur of the Moment at the Royal Court, London, when she was just 17.
Three years later, she dazzled the theatre-going public in London with a fresh, perceptive new version of The Seagull at Southwark Playhouse.
Her version brings Chekhov’s earliest major play , written in 1894, recognisably close to home and up-to-date, without damaging its essence.
