THE weather was perhaps not quite at its kindest for the organisers and visitors to the Burford Village Fete.

A few miles away in Ludlow a group of youngsters were performing the Noah Play which given some of Saturday's showery weather might have been much more appropriate.

However, people in Burford made the best of things and visitors to the fete in the village hall were entertained with singing by children from Burford Primary School.

Having their faces painted also lifted the gloom for children at the event.

It was a dog day with people getting the opportunity to show off their pets in different classes that were organised.

Despite the early exit of the England football team from the World Cup local players had the chance to demonstrate how it should be done and the earn themselves some money with a cash prize for the player that found the back of the net most often.
