THE smooth sound of jazz bought entertainment to the banks of the River Teme on Sunday.

The James Hunt Saxophone Quartet bought their talents to a large audience at Ludlow's Millennium Green as part of the Ludlow Fringe Festival.

A large crowd enjoyed the entertainment against the backdrop of Dinham Bridge and in the shadow of Ludlow Castle as the Ludlow based band played many jazz favourites which were known to an appreciative audience.

Folding chairs, rugs and picnics were very much in evidence as people enjoyed a perfect summer's afternoon with the weather, for once, delivering the goods.

The event was arranged for the Ludlow Fringe Festival by the Trustees of Dinham Millennium Green.

The organisation is planning to make the most of the riverside setting again, with a duck race being organised for the bank holiday taking place on August 25.
