SUN hats and shades were the dress code for a glorious summer fete at St Mary’s Church in Tenbury.
The call to pass the cream referred not just to ice cream and clotted cream but sun protection as a yellow ball high in the sky replaced memories of previous years when umbrellas and coats have been the order of the day.
Every summer there is a fete to raise money for the church that has a Norman Tower but was heavily restored in the 19th century.
An interesting stop for visitors it is home for the well preserved Acton Tombs and the shaft of an Anglo Saxon Cross.
The attractions at the 2014 fete included a tombola, white elephant stall and face painting as well as music provided by the Tenbury Town band.
Inside the historic building was a good place to take refuge from the hot sun.
