A JOBS fair in Ludlow enabled employers to make contact with people looking for a job.

The event was the second of its kind in Ludlow organised by the town's MP Philip Dunne.

A mix of 29 employers from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors were on hand to offer advice and there were more than 120 jobs on offer.

As might be expected with Philip Dunne’s role as minister for defence procurement the forces were well represented.

Other opportunities included those in care work, CAD design, catering, retail sales, and self employment.

“I was very pleased to have been able to organise a second jobs fair in Ludlow to help connect jobseekers with employers and training providers with real jobs on offer in south Shropshire,” said Mr Dunne.

“This was a good time of the year for young people leaving college and school this summer to be able to see some of the apprenticeship and further training opportunities on offer as well as part time and full time jobs.

"There had been a steady stream of people interested in what was on offer and I am hopeful that job offers will be forthcoming.”

Exhibitors included Barchester Health, Tesco, Esterform from Burford, Hazlin from Ludlow, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Armed Forces, County Training and other local employers.
