Charity Big Cake Bake raises £380

THERE were delicious treats in store for all of those who dropped in on the Big Cake Bake held in Tenbury Wells recently.

The Big Cake Bake was held at Café 27 on March 29 to raise much needed funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Locals attending the cafe enjoyed a plethora of treats accompanied by tea and coffee all in the name of a good cause.

A total of £380 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which will go towards valuable research into detecting early signs of lung disease, assisting young sufferers to live independently and providing vital support to sufferers and their families.

It is the 50th anniversary of the trust and they are redoubling their efforts to reach the goal of beating cystic fibrosis for good. The Big Cake Bake was a perfect way to get involved and welcome people who wanted to stop for a slice of cake, a cup of tea and a chat.

Organiser, Maureen Taylor was delighted with the outcome and is considering making it an annual event. She thanked Louise Taylor for the use of Café 27 and to everyone who contributed, some by helping on the day, some by donating raffle prizes and others by baking the 35 cakes that were all donated to make the event a success.
