POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses following the death of a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a lorry near Ludlow.
The collision happened on the A49 Bromfield to Ludlow road at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.
The motorcyclist, who died at the scene, has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a man in his sixties from the mid Wales area.
No-one else was injured in the collision.
“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to this tragedy and urging anyone who can assist to contact Ludlow or Shrewsbury police stations by calling 101,” said a spokesperson for West Mercia police.
The Aprilla ETV motorcycle was travelling north from Ludlow towards Bromfield and the Volvo lorry in the opposite direction. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Diversions were set up and the main A49 remained closed while the emergency services worked at the scene.
The Shropshire coroner, Mr John Ellery, will open an inquest in due course.
