LUDLOW based South Shropshire based Furniture Scheme and a Thai restaurant in the town have come together to cook up a new sort of partnership.
The Chang Thai Restaurant in Ludlow has collaborated with The South Shropshire Furniture Scheme to use up-cycled furniture in its new restaurant revamp.
“Recycled furniture has been key to our new contemporary image of Thai with a street twist," says owner Adam Tutt
“The Furniture Scheme and Crow Studios have been instrumental in helping us. Their work has been brilliant.”
“We have always been a supporter of the Furniture Scheme so when they said they could supply up cycled chairs we were keen to work with them.
"They have renovated old chairs and upholstered them to supply the seating at The Chang Thai and new tables have been handmade from old chairs by Dale Shields from Crow Studios.
“Working with an inventive craftsman like Dale has allowed us to bring to Ludlow something fresh and exciting. A new contemporary image has been created through supporting a local charity community enterprise and keeping in line with ethical use.”
“The Chang Thai Bar and Restaurant is now in its tenth year of trading. We believe Thai food is well established cuisine in the UK with Thai culture providing a rich exciting blend of the traditional and modern.
“This up cycling has brought an element of fun into the design process, inspiring the imagination, and giving added interest to the design.”
