PLANS for making new homes available in Orleton will be shaped by the needs of those who want to live in them.
This is the promise from the group behind a project that aims to create around 14 affordable homes, built to high energy efficiency standards.
The Orleton Housing Fayre has been planned in the village for Thursday February 13 at which members of the community are being invited to
give opinions into the latest stage of the fast-developing scheme.
The event takes place at Orleton Village Hall, between 3pm and 7pm.
The project board is keen for anyone who thinks they might want to live on the development, at Kitchen Hill, to register their interest. This information will then be used to form a local lettings plan for the site.
The scheme is a community-led initiative, with the steering group made up of residents, developers and local authority representatives.
Feedback from the February 13 event will contribute to the balance of lettings and shared ownership opportunities, depending on what people say they would prefer.
These homes are being built in a joint venture between South Shropshire Housing Association and Herefordshire Council, with backing from the Government's Homes and Communities Agency.
The fayre will be attended by representatives from both South Shropshire Housing Association and Herefordshire Council, who will be able to answer queries and help people officially register their interest in the properties.
