LUDLOW Golf Club hosted a one day staff training course on CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) including the use of a recently purchased portable defibrillator. This will ensure a swift response in the event of a member, visitor or passer-by suffering a heart attack whist on the golf course, in the clubhouse, or in the immediate vicinity.
The course was led by Priscilla Toop, community first responder from Ludlow Heart Start with support from West Midlands Ambulance Service and was attended by members and staff from Ludlow Golf Club, greenkeepers from Stourbridge Golf Club and also staff from Ludlow Homecare store.
In the event of an emergency the trained personnel will act as first responders whist awaiting the arrival of a paramedic or ambulance.
