LUDLOW MP Philip Dunne has been in Afghanistan to see work in preparing for the end of combat activities by British forces that are due to finish at the end of this year.
He was in Afghanistan as part of his role as minister for defence, equipment, support and technology.
This will involve the return of 9,800 containers of equipment together with more than 1,770 vehicles and major items.
The MP saw the work of the Defence Support Group that has a large group based in Shropshire.
He praised the work of servicemen and women who it is intended will hand over to the Afghan National Army that will be responsible for future operations against the Taliban.
