ROTARY Club volunteers fundraising for the Philippines Shelter boxes at a recent event at Aardvark Books in Brampton Bryan have been invited back for another collection.
The group collected £150 towards one of the Disaster Relief Shelter Boxes which cost £590 each and provide essential survival equipment for 10 people to use as they rebuild their homes.
"We are delighted to provide another opportunity for the Rotary to collect for the Philippines,” said Edward Tobin of Aardvark Books.
“It would be lovely if we could send a shelter box to the Philippines as a result of these collections, to help people affected by Typhoon Haiyan.”
Rotary Club volunteers will again brave the elements outside Aardvark Books on Sunday December 8, at the Christmas Fair event from 10am to 3pm.
The fair will have craft and gift stalls and will also host local musician Helen Wilding and her young pupils playing Christmas music.
Aardvark Books and Café will be giving away mulled wine and mince pies for the occasion. Entry to the event is free, as is parking.
