PARTS of Tenbury and the Teme Valley could be eligible for a part of a pot of £250 million to improve rural broadband.
Much of the county will benefit from a project being run by Worcestershire County Council to connect nine out of ten homes and businesses to the high speed network.
Culture Secretary Maria Miller has written to Harriett Baldwin MP for Tenbury outlining plans to allocate a further £250 million for projects to upgrade the final 10 per cent which will not be covered by current roll-out plans.
“I met with the culture secretary earlier this year to lobby directly for this extra fund to be allocated to ensure all of our rural communities benefit from superfast broadband,” said Mrs Baldwin, whose West Worcestershire constituency includes Tenbury.
“It is essential that all my constituents get access to superfast broadband as quickly as possible.”
