Joyce Baptitst gets chop for alzheimer’s charity

A DARING octogenarian has had a close crop to raise money for an Alzheimer’s charity.
Joyce Bapist had her shoulder length hair cropped in tribute to her sister and Alzheimer’s sufferer Ceiwen Whayman, who died in September this year and lived at Gravel Hill.
Joyce, aged 87, lives in Station Drive, had her hair cut at the New Image Hair Salon in Corve Street.
“I am doing it because two members of my family have died from Alzheimer’s and my brother Derek, who lives in Worcester, also has it,” said Joyce.
“I cannot run at my age. I can walk about but I cannot walk long distances so I decided that I would get my hair cut as it is something I could do.”
Joyce’s cut will also benefit The Haven breast cancer charity and those wishing to donate can do so by dropping off money at the salon.
