Man airlifted to hospital following crash in Ludlow

A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital following a road traffic collision in Ludlow.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened a the junction of the A49 and the B4365 in Bromfield, Ludlow about 2.40pm yesterday.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a cyclist and a small van that had been in collision.
“The cyclist had sustained serious multiple injuries. The man was given pain relief at the scene before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“The hospital was pre-alerted and medics were on standby awaiting the arrival of the man.
“No one else was injured in the incident.”
A West Mercia police spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident or witnessed the moments leading up to it."
