Tenbury's Apple Fest draws in the crowds
IT was a' fruit-full' Apple Fest in Tenbury.
The annual celebration of the apple was positively brimming with fruit after what has been a bumper crop.
Unfortunately, the warm sunshine that has made it such a good growing season failed to put in an appearance but the crowds turned up in their thousands.
This year the festival staged on the Burgage was extended. As well as the usual displays of apples there were some specialist stalls including one that gave people the chance to show off their expertise by naming varieties of apples by appearance and taste.
For the first time the Tenbury Tart originating from a local recipe and made by bakers in the town put in an appearance.
There was apple juice, apple trees and a chocolate apple which is a variation on the toffee apple.
For the first time the event was extended to become more family orientated and whilst the apple remained the centrepiece there were various displays including a blacksmith, birds of prey and alpacas.
