Cyclist airlifted to hospital after colliding with wall near Church Stretton

A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after colliding with a wall in south Shropshire.
The crash occurred on a country lane in Chatwall, north east of Church Stretton at 1.00pm yesterday.
An ambulance, a community first responder and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a cyclist that had left the road and been in collision with a hedgerow and stone wall.
“The man, believed to be in his late 30s, suffered head, shoulder and knee injuries and had been unconscious following the crash.
“He received emergency treatment at the scene and his condition was stabilised.
“The man was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment.”
