Undertaker murder trial jury to resume deliberations Monday

THE jury in the trial of the Herefordshire undertaker accused of murdering his wife will resume its deliberations on Monday.

Mr Justice Flaux will continue his summing up for a short period before sending the five men and seven women to consider their verdict.

John Taylor, aged 61, of Mortimer Drive, Oreleton, near Tenbury Wells, pleads not guilty at Worcester Crown Court to killing his 63-year-old wife Alethea.

She was last seen on January 19 last year. He claimed she was suffering from dementia and led a search for her. Her body has never been found.

The prosecution has alleged that the retired teacher was upset after discovering he was having an affair with 53-year-old widow Alison Dearden.
