Principal to step down from Ludlow College post

THE merger of Ludlow College has claimed a high profile victim.
Jonathan Davis, principal of the college has decided to step down from his position in order to pursue other interests.
He has been involved in preparing Ludlow College for a merger with Herefordshire College of Technology (HCT) later this year.
“Jonathan has made a very significant contribution to Ludlow College, securing substantial capital investment and improving learners’ achievements and their College experience,”
said Dr Ewart Caron, chairman of governors.
“He has also overseen the merger process, facilitating the handover to the senior team at HCT.
“Jonathan is very well placed to use his extensive experience and expertise to the benefit of the wider further education sector.”
The merger, which is intended to secure the long-term sustainability of Ludlow College, will take place on August 1 2013.
It will facilitate further financial investment and ongoing quality improvements, developing the historic college as an important centre of high quality education.
“I have really enjoyed my time as principal of Ludlow College and am proud of what has been achieved over the last three years,” said Mr Davis.
“The college is well placed to grow and develop and I am convinced that students and staff have a bright future ahead.”
