A SPECIAL meeting of Ludlow Town Council has been called for this Thursday, February 28.
But much of the meeting that could have major implications for the town’s finances will be held in a secret session.
After an initial public open session the council is expected to go into secret session to discuss recommendations from a staffing and appeals committee also held behind closed doors last Tuesday.
Councillors will be discussing the next step in the nine month dispute with the former town clerk, who has a case listed in a tribunal hearing.
One of the issues councillors will consider if whether to try to settle the matter out of court.
However, any significant payment would have major implications for town Council finances as a £30,000 payment would represent seven per cent of the council precept.
If the council needs to find significant extra funds then one option would involve taking out a loan
