DON Quixote, one of the most charming and amusing of 19th century romantic Russian ballets tells the tale of the romantic but shortsighted and eccentric suitor on an adventurous quest.
When his high-minded idealism confronts humdrum reality the consequences prove hilarious.
Considered a signature production of the Bolshoi Ballet, Don Quixote, which will be screened live tonight at SpArC in Bishops Castle, showcases technical wizardry and astonishing feats – Russian ballet at its most powerful and vivid.
The Bolshoi dazzles with its thrilling fireworks of nonstop athleticism and beautifully realised acting, with glittering costumes, lavish sets and a sweeping score adding to the splendour.
Tickets available at SpArC reception, or call 01588 630243 or visit sparctheatre.co.uk.
Don Quixote starts at 7pm.
