LUDLOW Amateur Boxing Club’s Charlie Barnfield has the ‘heart of a lion’, according to chairman Colin Woodfield.
Barnfield put up a brave display against Zeeshan Mahmood at Nechells Green ABC Show in Birmingham last Friday.
Barnfield showed fighting spirit but the home boxer narrowly gained the judges’ verdict after three hard-fought rounds.
“It was clear to see the great progress that Charlie's making,”
said chairman Woodfield.
“Charlie has the heart of a lion and took the bout at very late notice.
“Many of the crowd thought Charlie had done enough to win the fight.”
Barnfield will be fighting again this weekend at a different venue in Birmingham at Studio ABC’s show. And he is training hard for Ludlow’s Boxing Show at Ludlow Racecourse on Friday, March 8.
Ludlow duo Chris Roberts and Chris Preece are in action tomorrow night (Friday) at the Lord Hill Hotel in Shrewsbury at Shrewsbury and Severnside’s Boxing Show.
