THERE is a new manager running Ludlow market.

Tony Caton has been appointed and will work with Sean Turgoose the supervisor of Ludlow Town Council’s direct labour force.

“I'm very pleased to welcome Tony to the team and also acknowledge the debt of gratitude that Ludlow Town Council owes to Sean, who, in the absence of a market officer, has worked tirelessly to keep the market running smoothly since September,” said Gina Wilding, Ludow’s clerk.

Tony Pound, mayor of Ludlow said he hoped that the appointment would enable the award winning market to build upon its past successes.

General markets are held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with local produce markets on the second and four Thursday, an antiques market on the first and third Sunday and a host of specialist book, craft and garden markets throughout the year.
