A FLOATING art exhibition is set to make waves at a popular tourist attraction near Ludlow.
Should the fledgling idea come to fruition, artist Mark Richards would spend nine days living as a hermit in a dome floating on a pond at Croft Castle’s Fishpool Valley.
Mark and architect David Connor have been working with arts organisation Meadow Arts which has commissioned the research stage of the ambitious project.
The idea is to build the ‘Hermitcraft’ using natural materials, where Mark can live while making a series of ‘observational drawings’.
The initial drawings and design ideas will be on display at the National Trustowned Croft Castle during a half-term exhibition next month.
The design duo and Meadow Arts are now looking for funding to build the structure.
Meadow Arts commissions new art works and exhibitions throughout the West Midlands and beyond.
