LUDLOW will be hoping to bounce back from a humbling 42-23 defeat against Burton when they host fellow strugglers Northwich tomorrow (Saturday).

Dave Irish’s team are fourth from bottom in Midlands One West, but are only six points ahead of opponents Northwich.

Cleobury Mortimer also suffered a heavy 42-5 defeat at the hands of Willenhall in Midlands Three West (North).

Cleobury have only won one league game this season and sit second from bottom in the table.

On Saturday, they entertain Shrewsbury, who sit just two places above them.

In Midlands Four West, Clee Hill recorded a vital 12-3 win against local rivals Bromyard.

Clee are second from bottom in the table, but face another tough test this weekend when they travel to mid table Five Ways.

In the same league, Bishop’s Castle’s away game against Harborne was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

“They play at the university’s pitch and no one was allowed to play on it at the weekend as it was wet in some parts,” said Bishop’s Castle captain Pete Bevan.

“We’ve got Uttoxeter at home on Saturday and we’re looking forward to it.

“We should have a couple of players back and will almost be back to full fitness.

“Telford are cut adrift at the bottom, but then it’s very tight, with us right amongst it.

“But, if we win on Saturday, then we will go up a couple of places.

“Hopefully, the weather will be ok to play the game.”
