MATT Blount fired in a hat-trick for table-topping Ludlow in their thumping 9-0 win at Yardley in ENER-G West Midlands Division Two.
Andrew Richards bagged a brace, while Gavin Hughes, skipper Stuart Richards, Matt Hall and Brendan Pratt also netted for Ludlow.
Ludlow led 6-0 at the interval and Hall and Pratt were thrilled to open their goal-scoring accounts for the term.
Ludlow 2nd lost Jake Watts with a pulled hamstring but they secured a 4-2 victory against Tamworth in ENER-G 2nd XI Division Two.
Stephen Barnes and Graeme Wilcox were among the scorers for Ludlow, while Graham Hutchinson’s short-corner was deflected into the net. Aaron Wilcox stood in as goalkeeper and had a fine match for Ludlow.
Joe Haywood snapped up a hat-trick and Tim Machin gave a man-of-the-match display in Ludlow 3rd’s 4-1 win over Aldridge and Walsall in the North Fathom League.
Andy Davenport-Smith also struck for Ludlow, who led 3-1 at the break, and were indebted to some fine saves from Luke Oatham.
Ludlow Under-16 girls had mixed fortunes in the England Championship at Much Wenlock. They crashed 5-0 in their opening match against a strong Lichfield side and then bounced back to defeat a depleted Lichfield, 5-4.
Naomi Burgoyne scored twice for Ludlow, while Alice Oatham, Emily Foreman and Jade Western also netted.
