A MAN walked into a Ludlow shop and gave £100 to a charity fundraising drive that swept the town last week.

British Summer Time went out in a blaze of pink as more than 50 businesses in the town got together to support Haven Breast Cancer Care, based in Hereford.

Many shops had collection tins and offered to donate a proportion of sales on some items to the charity.

There was also a chance for women visiting New Image on Corve Street to have confidential breast examinations and also to enjoy a Swedish massage.

It is intended that the pink festival, in its second year, will raise both funds and awareness of breast cancer.

There are plans for it to be an annual event and be extended to Tenbury and neighbouring towns.
