Men arrested in connection with south Shropshire burglaries

TWO men suspected of carrying out a series of burglaries in Shropshire during recent weeks have been arrested by police.

The men, aged 29 and 35, were in a car which was stopped by officers at Dudley.

A search of the vehicle traced property believed to have been stolen in a burglary in the Shifnal area on Wednesday.

The men were questioned about six or seven other domestic burglaries in different parts of Shropshire including Cleobury Mortimer.

These arrests follow heightened police activity where six search warrants were carried out at homes in Ludlow and other Shropshire towns as part of West Mercia Police's Citadel initiative targeting burglary suspects.

Since Citadel was launched police in Shropshire have made a series of arrests for burglary.
