Ludlow neighbourhood policing team

Inspector Ed Hancox

Sergeant Adrian Woolley

I Started in Feb 1995 at Ludlow and have lived in South Shropshire mainly since joining. I enjoy working in my home area because I feel I have an affinity with it , being able to make things right makes me feel proud to be here where it has happened.

In 1997 I moved to Shrewsbury to experience different aspects of Policing.

In April 2000 I qualified in Advanced driving and also became an authorised Firearms officer.

In March 2003 I was promoted to Sergeant and after my acting period I returned to Ludlow.

In 2004 I spent a few years as a Custody Sergeant and then returned to my response Sergeant role.

Having been asked to apply for the Safer Neighbourhood team in early 2012 I have remained in this role.

As long as I can catch a Burglar now and again I will always enjoy this career and not suffer from withdrawal.

I work with a dedicated team who make my job even better.

In my spare time I look forward to having fun with family and catching the occasional clean wave.

Police Community Support Officer Beth Hinton

In 2016 I joined West Mercia Police as part of the Ludlow Safer Neighbourhood Team having completed my studies at the University of Worcester.

I enjoy the rural elements of South Shropshire and ensure I reach out to the more isolated areas of our patch to offer general crime prevention advice as well as being a friendly face to come and talk to.

My interests include; cyber crime, crime prevention & online security... I am also a trained ScamChampion and Dementia Friend.

Police Community Support Officer Raj Matthews

Raj joined West Midlands Police in 2008 and was initially posted to Tipton in the Sandwell area. She has worked a variety of areas including Oldbury, Langley, Smethwick, Wednesbury and finally Walsall town centre. Raj was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to work alongside young people with the Prince's Trust and she became a team leader on the programme, providing training, mentoring support and offering practical help aimed at building the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people. Seeking fresh challenges in 2016, she transferred to West Mercia Police. Raj enjoys meeting local residents and hopes to provide long term solutions to their concerns and priorities.
