Mince pies, mulled wine, a huge Christmas tree and the possibility of snow may make us mere mortals happy, but some of our favourite celebrities can’t resist getting away from it all for the festive break.

TV mogul Simon Cowell is sunning himself in Barbados, with girlfriend Lauren Silverman, their baby son Eric and his two dogs, as well as good friend Sinitta.

Simon isn’t the only celebrity looking for some winter sun. Rita Ora is in Miami, Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and his girlfriend Lauren Hutton are living it up in St Barts, while Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock is also in an exotic location.

While they are enjoying the hot weather, other stars including Taylor Swift, Olly Murs, Emma Bunton, James Corden, McBusted’s Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter and girlfriend Ellie Goulding (who are resting in the Highlands) are feeling the festive spirit at home.

Meanwhile, others are still rushing around, trying to get the last bits of Christmas shopping done, both food and presents.
