Was Richard Ayoade's interview on the Bifa red carpet a comedy routine or just incredibly awkward?
A number of interviewers (most famously, Channel 4′s Krishnan Guru Murthy) have found Richard Ayoade a prickly customer to interview.
The IT Crowd and Gadget Man star was at it again on the red carpet of the British Independent Film Awards. When asked what led to him presenting the awards, he responded: “I probably made a mistake. And I plan to honour that mistake.”
He moved on to describing “access to the toilets” as his most important requirement for the night. Finally, after a long discourse about actual red carpet, he said in a puzzled tone: “You can’t be enjoying this… And I don’t really know what I’m doing.”
