July 2014
On July 13 2014, Cheryl – who was previously married to footballer Ashley Cole – dropped the bombshell that she had become a Mrs again, having secretly tied the knot to the Frenchman after three months of dating.

“I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news… Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14.. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together..,” the singer wrote alongside a photo of her engagement and wedding rings on Instagram.

The couple married on a beach on the Caribbean island of Mustique with just four guests in attendance.

Days after announcing her wedding, Cheryl unveiled her new single Crazy Stupid Love. The song, which featured Tinie Tempah, was a hit and topped the charts.

August 2014
Cheryl launched her new fragrance, Storm Flower, in August.

And it was back to TV work as she rejoined Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Mel B for the X Factor auditions later that month.

It was her first return back to the ITV talent show in four years, following her departure from the UK version of the ITV show in 2010, and her high-profile exit from the US version in 2011.

It wasn’t all positive though.

Her new husband was quick to defend her from social media trolls when they criticised her weight and appearance, after she posted a selfie from the X Factor auditions.

“She is the most beautiful woman on the planet and she wants to share it. #sharingiscaring No seriously she is,” he wrote, according to the Daily Mirror.

October 2014
In October, Cheryl unveiled her new expletive-filled single, I Don’t Care. Despite turning the airwaves blue with its swearwords, the song went to Number One.

The achievement also meant she set a new record, becoming the first solo British singer to notch up five number ones, while Rita Ora and Geri Halliwell have four each.

October also saw the stunning singer being compared to Kermit the Frog after she wore a green Lanvin dress at one of the X Factor’s shows.

Simon referred to her as Kermit throughout the show, and it wasn’t long before Cheryl Kermit started trending on Twitter.

Cheryl took all the jokes in her stride.

That same month, Jean-Bernard won substantial undisclosed privacy damages over a “very upsetting” magazine article about his family life.

November 2014
Cheryl released her fourth album Only Human in November.

The record, which featured singles Crazy Stupid Love and I Don’t Care, failed to follow the success of her previous albums, only getting to the seventh spot in the UK albums chart.

She also had a pop at people who find her new surname a bit of a mouthful, telling Marie Claire: “People are so ignorant about it, they just start calling us Cheryl, but I’ll take that, whatever.”

December 2014
The festive month saw Cheryl turn on the Oxford Street Christmas lights.

There was also a blast from the past as the singer decided to unfollow her former Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle – a move that was immediately spotted by fans.

On the X Factor front, Cheryl’s acts – Chloe Jasmine, Stephanie Nala, Lola Saunders and Lauren Platt – failed to make it through to the final three on the show.

Lauren made it to the top four, before being eliminated before the live finals.

January 2015
New year, new start.

Cheryl kicked things off by launching her new charity for disadvantaged young people.

She wrote: “I’m happy to announce my exciting news. I will be delivering my first…centre in Newcastle for young people #CherylsTrust”

February 2015
Cheryl returned to her musical roots, releasing a new single, Only Human.

She also got treated to a romantic getaway on Valentine’s Day by Jean-Bernard.

March 2015
Cheryl gave fans a shock when she went for the chop, debuting a new hairdo in March.

She later admitted: “Getting to grips with my new “do”.

Jean-Bernard had to jump to his wife’s defence again, this time speaking out at the radio stations who refused to play her music.

According to the Metro, he said: “How come somebody as exceptional as my wife has to fight for being the best and even her own management, label and people that decide who goes on radio don’t move their asses.”

May 2015
After a few months away from the spotlight, Cheryl made a triumphant return at the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival, wearing a gorgeous Ralph and Russo gown at the screening of Irrational Man.

Days later, she had a spat with fellow X Factor judge Louis, who said he is stepping down from the programme, after he branded her “lazy” and lacking in energy, as rumours swirled whether she would return to the show.

Cheryl immediately hit back at the Irish judge.

Louis later claimed the pair had reconciled through texts, which was denied by the Crazy Stupid Love singer.

June 2015
Cheryl’s X Factor job remains secure, after she signed to judge this year’s series alongside new judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw, and of course Simon Cowell.

“Excited to be back on @thexfactoruk. Welcome to the show @ritaora and @nicholasgrimshaw.. and of course Cowell himself,” she wrote.

“This year is going to be so much fun!!! We’re so excited to find the next star.”

Cheryl also celebrated her 32nd birthday on June 30, and was whisked away to Italy for a dinner by Jean-Bernard.

She wrote: “When you’re asked what you would like to have for your birthday dinner and you say lets go to a nice Italian restaurant!… Then you actually end up IN Italy. I need to step up my game. I’m feeling very lucky and grateful.”

It has been an amazing 12 months for Cheryl and Jean-Bernard. Here’s to the next year!
