ONE of the UK’s leading professional orchestras, the City of London Sinfonia, will be performing at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday, February 12.
City of London Sinfonia was founded in 1971 by the late Richard Hickox CBE.
It soon established a reputation for thoughtfully combined programmes, a commitment to music by 20th century and contemporary British composers and for the expert interpretation of its repertoire.
Bassoon soloist Karen Geoghegan – who was runner-up in BBC 2’s Classical Star for her performance of the Hummel Bassoon Concerto with the CLS – joins the orchestra for a programme of music by Bartók, Mozart, Finzi and Haydn at the Assembly Rooms on February 12 at 7.30pm.
