EDDIE Izzard has been hailed as one of the foremost stand-ups of his generation and, as part of a short warm-up tour for a sell-out run of his new show, Stripped, at London’s Lyric Theatre, he will be at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday, November 14, for one, already sold-out, night.

Izzard takes ideas and situations and extrapolates then into bizarre, tangential, absurd and surreal comic narratives. Since his first stage appearance on London’s West End in 1993 there have been a succession of sell-outs and critically acclaimed international tours.

Eddie’s musings have earned him countless awards, including two Emmys. While initially renowned as a comic, Eddie is also now equally respected as a film, theatre and TV actor. His hugely successful FX drama The Riches is currently being screened all over the world and this autumn he will appear on the big screen opposite Tom Cruise in the highly-anticipated Valkyrie.

Stripped was the hottest ticket in America last summer including three sell-out dates at New York’s legendary Radio City Music Hall.

“His humour reflects the scattershot lunacy of Monty Python, but with flashes of Robin Williams’s manic energy and a sophisticated silliness that is entirely his own,” said Caryn James in The New York Times.

Eddie Izzard’s Stripped is at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday, November 14 at 11pm.
