Ledbury Allotment Association presents Terry Walton: Allotment tips from the Jeremy Vine Allotment.
Terry Walton can regularly be heard on Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 show providing gardening tips to listeners. Since the age of four, when Terry’s dad first took him to his allotment, he’s had a ‘growing’ desire to garden. Terry took his first allotment aged 11, and has been on the same allotment site for over 50 years.
Terry combined a busy life in industry, a happy family life with his wife Anthea and two sons with (at one stage) keeping ten allotment plots on the go. He’s a born-again organic gardener having seen the error of his ways in the late 1960s and dispensed with using chemicals, now growing all his produce using all-natural means of nourishing them.
Terry retired in 2001 and by some very fortunate means started broadcasting from his allotments on the, then new, Jeremy Vine show.
Terry Walton will be at The Market Theatre on Wednesday, March 21 at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 07967 517125 or visit themarkettheatre.com
