ARTS Alive brings a beautiful and unusual musical event to the Community Centre in Leominster.

You are in a forest at midnight. Shafts of moonlight shimmer through trees and suddenly you come across a glade with a band of musicians making the most beautiful sounds. Meet Quartette Lunoire, who combine set design and lighting to create a magical environment to accompany their haunting, beautiful music.

Quartette Lunoire is the brainchild of John Hymas, one of the best-known musicians in the Welsh borders. Composer, instrumentalist and teacher, John’s varied musical background includes violinist in a symphony orchestra, being part of the great Little Rumba and a founder member of legendary local folk group Hoover the Dog

The programme for Quartette Lunoire includes Neck of the Woods, written specially for the group by John Hymas, and Kurt Weill's Little Threepenny Music. Alongside John on violin and accordion, Quartette Lunoire includes Marie McNally on clarinet, Joanne Jefferis, cello and Deborah Anderson, double bass.

Quartette Lunoire will be at the Playhouse Cinema, The Community Centre, Leominster at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 26. To book, call 01568 616460 / 612583 or visit artsalive.co.uk for online booking.
