THIS year’s Glasbury Arts Visual Arts Exhibition features another exciting line-up of exhibitors including three paintings by John Uzell Edwards, two of them from the contemporary art collection at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Gallery

John Uzell Edwards, who died in 2014, was twice awarded the main painting prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and when his widow heard that two of his older works were to be exhibited in Glasbury, she contacted Glasbury Arts to offer them a third, more recent painting.

Also exhibiting, returning for the third time, is the internationally renowned surrealist painter Alan Salisbury, while Brendan Burns, one of Wales’s most exciting abstract painters, appears for the first time.

A wide range of guest artists, including sculptor Phil Beales, landscape photographer Mark Zytynski and collage maker Aine Venables, join local artists and the talented artists from Clyro Life Drawing Group to ensure an eclectic, exciting and thought-provoking exhibition.

Responding to his A level brief to deconstruct and then reassemble in an artistic style, Cai turned to nature to create a stunning work, which will be complemented by a selection of Mark Zytynski’s photographs of trees.
