SHAKESPEARE is very much in town this year with Rooftop Theatre Company’s The Tempest running from Tuesday until Tuesday, July 7.
Tickets are selling fast for the production at Ludlow Brewery, which promises to be a fresh and original interpretation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece with a modern setting not too far away from Ludlow. The company filmed an atmospheric trailer at Mitchell’s Fold stone circle in the Stiperstones.
The Tempest is a play of magic, revenge and forgiveness. It is comedic and at times disturbing, showing the consequences of decisions and the exploitation involved in relationships and power.
“Everything is coming together for next week’s opening, said director Simon Bolton. "we’re looking forward to welcoming our audience to a lively and powerful production.”
