WITH the Fringe festival in full swing, Friends of Ludlow Arts is doing its part not only by financially supporting key elements of the event but also by taking to the stage.

Shake in a Day is one of three fundraising events being run by FoLA at this year’s festival and is, in equal parts terrifying and exhilarating.

Tomorrow the band leader of the Metropolitan Brass Band will draw the title of a Shakespeare play out of a hat. The cast will then have until Sunday to get their act together to perform the play at Appletree Studio at 7.30pm.

The daring cast of just 13 comprises both experienced Shakespeare actors and total amateurs who will have their talents put to the test in an attempt to bring to life a beloved play in just a day.

The other two events presented by FoLA are two walks led by Michael Rosenbaum: the first on Sunday afternoon looking at the rocks on which Ludlow Castle stands, the second on Sunday, June 28, will trace the town walls.

To book call the box office at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on 01584 878141.
