ALWAYS on the look-out for unusual, engaging shows for very young audiences, Arts Alive starts off the half-term holiday on Sunday with a fun, interactive show from theatre company Untied Artists, called The Boy Who Bit Picasso.

“My name is Tony. I live on a farm. I’ve got the most extraordinary friend. His name is Pablo Picasso.” Based on the book by Antony Penrose, son of photographer Lee Miller and artist Roland Penrose, this is the delightful story of a little boy who gets to know a famous artist – and it gives the audience loads of fun! Join Tony to dress up, let the animals loose, make crazy pictures, and maybe get just a bit messy…

Originally co-produced with Oxford Playhouse, The Boy Who Bit Picasso is an interactive theatre show for everyone aged four to eight and their families, with storytelling, music and lots of chances to make your own art. It’s a hands-on family show that along the way gently introduces one of the 20th century’s most influential artists.

Sian Kerry of Arts Alive saw The Boy Who Bit Picasso at the National Rural Touring Conference and loved ‘this entertaining, participative theatre piece for families.’

And what did Picasso do when Tony bit him? Bit him back, of course!

There are two opportunities to join Untied Artists for The Boy Who Bit Picasso at All Stretton Village Hall at 11am or 2.30pm on Sunday. To book, call 01694 723378 or book online at artsalive.co.uk
